The Munich Cluster for the Future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions (MCube) has been given the green light by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for a second funding period, which will be financed with around 15 million euros. MCube brings together key players from science, business and society to develop sustainable mobility innovations in Munich. Over 80 partners are involved in nine individual projects that are to be realised in the second funding phase of MCUBE.
Our AVS Lab is leading the ASUR project, which aims to fundamentally improve mobility provision in rural areas through the use of autonomous and networked mobility models (ABM). Networking the city, surrounding area and region enables demand-orientated mobility that is more flexible and efficient. ASUR aims to promote sustainable and socially equitable mobility by focussing on advanced technologies. The population is actively involved in the development and testing of new mobility models. The ASUR project has the following project partners: Technical University of Munich (with the Chairs of Autonomous Vehicle Systems, Automotive Engineering, and Business Analytics & Intelligent Systems), Stadtwerke München, Stadtwerke Freising, DB Regio Bus, MUNIQ Design, ADAC, INYO Mobility GmbH, HOLON GmbH, and the City of Munich.
