Over the past four weeks, our AVS Lab has had the honour of hosting a research visitor from Finland from the University of Helsinki. Dr Otto Lappi, a scientist from the University of Helsinki, leads a group there in the field of congitional science, researching the congnitive basis of human everyday and expert performance. Otto's experimental and theoretical work is mainly concerned with the visual strategies of car drivers, especially those of expert drivers on the racetrack. Together with Otto, our AVS Lab has spent the last few weeks developing new ideas and algorithms for the future generation of autonomous vehicles. We would like to thank Otto for his visit and the exchange with our group, and we look forward to future visits and further collaboration.
