We are delighted to welcome Ann-Kathrin Schwehn to the Professorship Autonomous Vehicle Systems (AVS) at the Technical University of Munich. Ann-Kathrin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our lab, and we are excited to see the contributions she will make in her new role as a doctoral candidate.
Ann-Kathrin completed her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Stuttgart. Following her undergraduate studies, she gained valuable industry experience during an internship at Mercedes-Benz AG in Sindelfingen, where she worked in the Passive Safety department.
Driven by her passion for automotive engineering, Ann-Kathrin pursued a Master's degree at TUM, specializing in Automotive Engineering. In March 2023, she joined the TUM Autonomous Motorsport Team, where she played a pivotal role in the perception team. Her Master's thesis focused on the sensor fusion of camera and LiDAR for autonomous race cars, showcasing her expertise and innovative approach to advanced vehicle systems.
Since June 2024, Ann-Kathrin has been working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Johannes Betz at the AVS Lab. Her research is centered on trajectory planning for evasive maneuvers, aiming to enhance the safety and responsiveness of autonomous vehicles in dynamic and potentially hazardous situations. Additionally, she continues to contribute to the TUM Autonomous Motorsport Team, furthering her work in trajectory planning.
We are confident that Ann-Kathrin's dedication and expertise will greatly benefit our lab's research initiatives. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Ann-Kathrin Schwehn as she embarks on this exciting journey with us.
Welcome to the team, Ann-Kathrin!
