During the last two weeks our chair holder Prof. Fritz Busch and our colleagues Georgios Grigoropoulos and Sasan Amini travelled all over the world to present their own work on ITS as well as to learn about the latest developments in this field.
At the ITS World Congress in Singapore Prof. Fritz Busch presented in a Special Interest Session organized by TUMCREATE on the topic "Enabling automated and integrated urban public transport services". Prof. Robert Bertini chaired the session which was attended by representatives of MIT, NTU, Siemens and the City of Hamburg. Prof. Fritz Busch presented the research of the driverless public transport system DART (see video).
At the ITSC in Auckland, NZ, Georgios Grigoropoulos presented his work on the implementation of bicycle control in microscopic traffic simulations. Sasan Amini received the IEEE ITSS Young-Professionals Travel Fellowship Grand and participated in a workshop on cooperative automated driving. He presented his ideas on the next generation of traffic management systems in the era of connected autonomous vehicles.
