Evaluation of coordination for bicycles in Schellingstraße, Munich

Coordinated traffic signals for bicyclists will be experimentally installed and tested in Schellingstraße. The goal of the coordinated traffic signals is to decrease the travel time and number of stops of bicyclists, increasing the overall attractively and comfort of bicycling. It is also important that other road users (cars, trucks and public transport) are not disadvantage by the installation of the coordinated signals. The Chair of Traffic Engineering and Control is supporting the City of Munich by analyzing the effects of the coordinated signals on all road users. Data collection will be carried out on four days in order to assess the situation before and after the installation of the coordinated signals (with and without public transport prioritization)
