Countdown timers are designed to help cyclists tactically adjust their speed and avoid stops at signalized intersection approaches. As part of the research project RadOnTime, funded by the BMVI, countdown timers for bicycle traffic will be implemented during July 2018 at three locations in Munich: Christoph-von-Glück Platz - Milbertshofener Straße, Ludwigstraße - Theresienstraße and Karlsstraße - Luisenstraße. This study analyzes the effects of countdown timers on cyclist behavior by theChair of Traffic Engineering and Control.
