After keynote speeches by Professors Lienkamp (Institute for Automotive Technology (FTM)), Wulfhorst (Chair of Settlement Structure and Transport Planning) and Pfotenhauer (Munich Center for Technology in Society), representatives of the chairs were given the opportunity to present their current work. The Chair of Settlement Structure and Transport Planning was represented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gehard Wulfhorst and Dr.-Ing. David Duran.
During the lecture, he introduced the multidisciplinary chair team consisting of civil, environmental and industrial engineers, architects and spatial planners as well as geographers, economists and social scientists. Within different research groups, problems and solutions are handled hand-in-hand. Accompanying the research, the openLAB Urban Mobility is intended to transport the results and findings from the individual research projects to the general public and, in the same breath, open up the dialogue on current mobility topics. In addition, a new focus in the work and teaching of the Chair of Settlement Structure and Transport Planning is now to be set with the new research group Human-centred Mobility. The new group will research Mobility Justice through quantitative and qualitative methods in parallel to the three existing ones (Accessibility Planning, Integrated Mobility Concepts and Governance). The research will start in September 2022 - updates will follow! Additionally, embedded in the MCube Cluster - The Munich Cluster for the Future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions, various research projects are being worked on at the Chair. In addition, further offers for students have been created in cooperation with other chairs, such as the AQT Summer School or the euMOVE European Mobility Venture course. Offers for PhD students are intended to promote interdisciplinary exchange and international networking.
After the lectures, the TUM.Mobility Day 2022 was used to explore the Garching campus, to exchange ideas with other scientists in the field of mobility and to end the day with food and drinks.
We would like to thank the Institute for Automotive Technology (FTM) for this great day and we are looking forward to further TUM.Mobility Network meetings!
