Institute of Sustainable Mobile Powertrains

Welcome to the website of the Institute of Sustainable Mobile Powertrains at the Technical University of Munich. Prof. Malte Jaensch has been full professor of the Chair since October 2021.

We research technical solutions for the sustainable use of energy in mobility as a contribution to a future worth living. For this, we look at the entire range of drive systems, from internal combustion engines operated with climate-neutral fuels to electric powertrains and hydrogen fuel cells. Following the chair's long-standing philosophy, the link between simulation, prototyping and testing is of particular importance to us.

The Institute of Sustainable Mobile Powertrains with its test facilities, workshops and laboratories is located in Munich-Moosach.
