The Chair of Sustainable Mobile Powertrains of the Technical University of Munich, located at Schragenhofstr. 31, 80992 Munich invites applications for a PhD studentship as a research associate in the area of electric drivetrains.
Responsibilities:
- Development of a novel high-performance electric drivetrain for vehicle applications
- Design of the electric machines (electromagnetics, mechanical, thermal)
- Development, assembly and operation of a matching test bench system
- Prototype manufacturing and testing of electric drivetrains
- Management of the associated research project
- Supporting the teaching in electric vehicle powertrains
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject, e.g. electrical or mechanical engineering, mechatronics, that meets the requirements for enrolment for the PhD degree at Technical University of Munich
- Good knowledge of the operating principles of electric drivetrains (e-machine, inverter)
- Experience in modelling, simulation and design of electrical machines
- Hands-on experience in testing of electric drivetrains is advantageous
- Independent but co-operative work habits
- Proficiency in Englisch (written and spoken)
- Good knowledge of German beneficial
The Role:
We offer an interesting and versatile role with a large degree of personal responsibility and freedom to design as part of a young and dynamic team at one of the leading engineering research organisations in Germany. The successful applicant will be employed as a research associate, paid in accordance with the rules of the collective bargaining agreement in the public service of the state of Bavaria (TV-L), pay bracket E13.
