Standardised interface for the deep integration of ride-sharing services in public transport - Mitanand
Problem definition
Changed mobility needs, increasing sustainability requirements and the need for enhanced routing, information and booking of mobility options warrant the integration of ridesharing offers with public transport and other mobility options. Ridesharing platforms currently focus mainly on long-distance travel or employee mobility. To date, no successful solution for everyday mobility in a local or regional context is known in Germany that integrates ridesharing into the public transport system. The aim of the Mitanand project is to establish a standardized interface based on GTFS to integrate ridesharing into public transport platforms.
Objectives
- Create a standardized and universally applicable interface based on GTFS
- Implement the integration of ridesharing into MVV’s route planner
- Test the integration in terms of software and usability
- Assess the accessibility benefits of integrating ridesharing and public transport
- Evaluate use cases and acceptance among users and mobility providers
