Summer streets, parklets, pop-up parks. In recent years, temporary actions and installations have also been increasingly observed on Munich streets. Are such street space experiments an opportunity for systemic change in urban mobility and strategic planning of climate-friendly recreational spaces? Which experiments exist in Munich, how do they work, who are the actors and what do they achieve?
In order to answer these questions, we would like to offer a platform for the exchange of all participants in road experiments in Munich. In cooperation with the Chair of Landscape Architecture and Public Space (LAO), openLAB Urban Mobility invites for an exchange in the name of the Chair of Urban Structure and Transport Planning.
The first event on street-space experiments showed us how much potential there is in Munich's initiatives and what a benefit the networking of the various actors brings. In a second step, we would like to hear from the initiatives about their experiences from past projects and their plans for the coming year.
We invite you to join us on Thursday, February 16 at 5 - 7 p.m. at the Chair of Settlement Structure and Transport Planning. Also present will be scientific staff members of all chairs of TUM who are doing research in this field. Under the motto "Street-Dating" we want to exchange information and experiences in small rounds in the workshop format "World Café".
