ABIT: activity-based model
The group is currently developing the activity-based model ABIT. This model is able to generate synthetic weekly travel diaries for individuals. Thanks to this, it is possible to represent weekly behavior of agents and simulate household interactions (e.g. regarding the use of shared resources, such as vehicles) and joint travel.
ABIT simulates first the demand of an an initial year. Afterwards, thanks to the inegration with a land use model (which simulates changes in the population year to year), ABIT will update the plans of the agents, instead of generating new ones. This incremental approach is currently under design.
ABIT is an open-source model that can be downloaded from Github under https://github.com/msmobility/abit. More details about this model are explained in the model wiki.
