| Department of Mobility Systems Engineering, Technical University of Munich Research Group Lead "Travel Analytics" I am leading the analysis of rural cyclists' level of service (NCHRP 08-135), and coordinate the DFG research projects TENGOS, on epidemic spread in urban transportation networks, and FABILUT2, on microscopic integration of land use and transport models. I also investigate disadvantaged groups' travel behavior, life events' impact on travel behavior stability, and spatial effects of remote working arrangements. Besides, I am teaching Planning and Design of Cycling Facilities, Road Safety Fundamentals, Modeling Urban Development, Scientific Methods, and Project Seminar at the Master's Program in Transportation Systems at TUM and advising Master theses.

2016-2020
| Department of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Munich Senior Research Associate, TUM University Foundation Fellowship [Mar 2016 - Feb 2017] At TUM, I work on the integration of the land-use model SILO with the microscopic travel demand model MITO and the microscopic traffic assignment model MATSim. The integrated model is applied to the metropolitan area of Munich, Kagawa and Cape Town to asses the impact of transportation policies on urban mobility and land use. Specifically, I generated the synthetic population of the Munich metropolitan area and estimated travel time budgets. I also worked on incorporating persons with disabilities in SILO and MITO, on the autocalibration of land use models using machine learning techniques and on estimating induced demand by Urban Air Mobility.Besides, I am co-teaching New Mobility Solutions (0000005237), Road Safety Fundamentals (0000001532) and Project Seminar (240930725) at the Master's Program in Transportation Systems at TUM and advising Master theses. |

| Highway Engineering Research Group, Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) Research Associate, FPI Research and Teaching Fellowship [Spanish Ministry of Economy, BES-2011-044612] While conducting the research for my doctoral dissertation, I worked as a research associate at the Highway Engineering Research Group. My principal research projects were "Development of Passing Sight Distance Models" [TRA2010-21736] and "Design of Functional and Safe Two-Lane Highways" [TRA2013-42578-P]; on which I conducted the operational analyses of two-lane highways by using traffic microsimulation. During my doctoral studies, I spent six months at the Bureau of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Freight Security at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada in 2013 [European Commission, Transatlantic Partnership for Excellence in Engineering]; four months at the Institute of Transportation at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, USA in 2013 [Spanish Ministry of Economy, EEBB-I-2013-06030]; and three months at the Department on Highway Design, Traffic Flow and Traffic Control (V1) at the Federal Highway Research Institute in Bergish Gladbach, Germany in 2015 [Spanish Ministry of Economy, EEBB-I-15-09970]. Between 2011 and 2015, I assisted on the teaching of courses on Road Safety Management, Traffic Engineering, Geometric Design and Research Methodology at UPV. |

| Highway Engineering Research Group, Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) Research Associate During my master studies in Transportation Engineering and Urban Planning, I continued my work at the Highway Engineering Research Group as a research associate. My research was focused on evaluating the effect of traffic calming in urban areas, specifically on traffic operations and safety of crosstown roads. My research projects included "Methodology to design and implement traffic calming systems" [PT-2007-052-23IAPM], "Evaluation of the effect of traffic calming measures on emergency vehicles" [ACOMP2009/079] and "Evaluation of the new traffic calming device Speed kidney" [ACOMP2011/016]. |

| China Engineering Consultants, Inc., Taiwan (CECI) Engineering Intern, Taiwan Tech Trek Program During summer 2007, I worked as an engineering intern at the Tunnels and Geotechnical Engineering Department at CECI, Taiwan. I developed a study of alternatives to cross the sea passage in the Danshiu's river mouth and studied safety measures in tunnels. |
