In this research initiative 28 partners are involved – automotive companies, equipment manufacturers, companies of electronic-, telecommunication and software, research institutes as well as the administration of roads and transport.
The initiative consists of three projects:
- Active security
- Traffic management
- Cooperative Cars
The networking of intelligent systems inside the vehicle with intelligent infrastructure via communication and cooperation is the aim of ACTIVE-VM. This cooperation will cause new forms of cooperation between the automobile industry, the operators of the road network, the providers of data-and information services and the producers of end-devices. But “Cooperation in transportation” also means that a stronger interaction of technologies and software will be enabled by the availability of new communication media. The six ACTIVE-VM applications connect traffic-and information-centres, roadside facilities of infrastructure and intelligent vehicles in a novel way.
The chair of traffic engineering and control operates in the subproject information platform.
- Analysis of the requirements of the system-architecture especially in consideration of the process monitoring
- Development of an integrated effects-system
- Definition of meaningful quality-levels
- Development of a concept for quality control
- Development of a reference database on the basis of field tests and simulation
