EASYRIDE - Automated driving in the urban context
Project Description
Automated driving is currently one of the most important innovations in the field of mobility. It does not only promise increased comfort and safety in private transport, but also opens up opportunities for the creation of novel mobility services and the transformation of the mobility system, especially in the urban environment. Using the example of the City of Munich (LHM), the EASYRIDE project defines goals from a municipal perspective, develops realistic development paths for the "mobility transformation" and derives specific recommendations for action, while considering identified risks, opportunities and uncertainties. Selected solutions will be demonstrated in pilot demonstrators.
Tasks of the Chair
The Chair of Traffic Engineering and Control is jointly responsible for the definition of the project’s target image as well as its scenarios. A guiding principle and matching measures will be developed and investigated together with the project partners, ensuring that a future regular use of automated and connected vehicles will support municipal goals. Here, the chair contributes to the project’s legal, regulatory and control framework, bringing in its expertise especially in the areas of data and traffic management.
