Test Fields and Simulators
Lead: Mathias Pechinger, Arslan Syed
The focus of this research group is the development and application of behaviour models and human-in-the-loop simulations and experiments for multimodal urban traffic. These models are then used to analyse and evaluate innovative technologies related to connected and automated transportation systems. A significant focus is put on the testing of connected and automated traffic when interacted with vulnerable road users (VRUs). The ultimate goal is to make the traffic more safe and efficient.
Research Topics:
- Develop stable and advanced human-in-the-loop simulations
- Develop accurate agent models for simulations
- Validate models in the real test field
- Bridge the gap between simulation and reality by real-world experiments
