On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, visiting professor Margarita Martinez spoke on a Spanish radio program about the gender gap in transport. Firstly, of the different mobility patterns that men and women follow and which are related to their different level of access to the labour market, the greater involvement of women in domestic affairs and their different perception of risk, among others. Secondly, she addressed the issue of harassment of women in transport, which she is researching together with TSE researcher Mohamed Abouelela, and which is not exclusive to developing countries, as one might think.
