Recap: openWALK through Moosach on May 15, 2024

Our latest openWALK took us through the former village of Moosach, a district in the north of the City of Munich.

We started at the historic center, learning that the old village plaza closely resembles today’s 15-Minute City vision. After embracing the historic buildings and calm, green atmosphere, we moved on in space and time towards Dachauer Straße, the bustling arterial road that divides the two very different faces of Moosach.
Thanks to Anna Canins and Maria Angela Mastroianni, we stopped at the Stadtteilladen Moosach (provided by Münchner Gesellschaft für Stadterneuerung mbH (MGS)) to learn about the ‘Stadtteilsanierung’ (urban renewal) currently underway in Moosach. Last but not least, we discovered how much the area around the station in Moosach has changed since the opening of the U3 stop in 2010.
We were amazed to see three very different perspectives that are part of this diverse and constantly evolving neighborhood. Thanks to Maximilian Pfertner for guiding the tour through his former neighborhood and to Carolin Zimmer for the photos!
🚶 Within our openWALKS, we invite you to explore the connections and interactions between transport and urban development with us. We aim to go on a journey of discovery, engage in dialogue with each other, and develop ideas for the future of urban mobility.

Stay tuned for the next openWALK. You can already regsiter: https://www.eventbrite.de/e/openwalk-giesing-tickets-906045605797
