Our week unfolded through a variety of activities:
📚 Monday: We explored the theoretical foundations of citizen participation, with practical experiences such as Patos de Minas in Brazil, and kicked off our own case study analyses.
🏙️ Tuesday: The morning took us to München’s Rathausgalerie, where we gained insights from the PlanTreff Team on urban planning in Munich. In the afternoon, we redefined street layouts in a participative way with Franziska Groß from PB Consult GmbH and their participation platform mitwirken.eu.
🎨 Wednesday: We welcomed Katrin Laville from Hochschule München to discuss her research and experience in Social Design. Later, we took our learning to the streets of Maxvorstadt to practice these concepts in real-time.
🔬 Thursday: Back to group work, followed by an engaging session with Thomas Bartoschek from re:edu GmbH & Co. KG, who shared his expertise in Citizen Science, and how all of us can play a role in research.
🗣️ Friday: The week concluded with student presentations — showcasing their case studies, participation processes and thoughtful reflections on how participation shapes inclusive and sustainable mobility.
A huge thank you to all our guest speakers, students, and partners for their dedication and collaboration. It was a dynamic week where we didn’t just discuss participation — we experienced it firsthand!
