Beschreibung
The Seminar is one of the core lectures of the field of study “Transportation Demand Management” of the international master’s program in Transportation Systems.
In preparation for the realization of their Master Theses and future professional work, students shall learn how to do and actually carry out scientific investigations and present their results.
We start with an introduction to Transportation Demand Management and Mobility Management as tools and instruments for achieving sustainable mobility.
We will first present the current mobility challenges in our own university, the specific case of Campus Weihenstephan.
Then, guest lectures will present practical examples on Corporate Mobility Management. We aim to learn about various approaches or methods to analyze mobility challenges in companies or organizations as well as the actual strategies for coping with those challenges, and their impacts. We are also interested in the lessons learned, what does work and what does not work and why.
After the experts’ inputs, students will carry out their own investigations on mobility management. They will do an extensive literature research on the topic such as additional methods for analyzing mobility behavior and strategies for achieving sustainable mobility and case studies where mobility management was implemented. They will write a scientific paper reporting their findings by the end of the year. Finally they will present their results and there will be discussions and debates regarding the potential impacts of mobility management.
