Dr. Afshin Jafari is a Visiting Researcher at TUM and a Research Fellow at RMIT University's Centre for Urban Research, Melbourne, Australia. His research interests include using computational methods, such as agent-based and activity-based modelling, spatial data science, and graph analysis to study travel behaviour, focusing on active and sustainable modes of travel. Afshin received his PhD from RMIT University in 2022 where he was one of the core developers of Melbourne's activity-based and agent-based transport model. Afshin current research focuses on exploring built-environment interventions to shape cities into 20-minute neighbourhoods where residents can reach daily local destinations by walking or cycling.
