Soban joined the Chair of Transportation Systems Engineering (TSE) at TUM as a PhD candidate in January 2025. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Constantinos Antoniou, he collaborates with Prof. Dr. Jiwon Kim (University of Queensland) and Prof. Dr. Stephan Günnemann (TUM-DAML) on the MINDMAP project. His research focuses on Graph neural networks (GNNs) and transfer learning for traffic prediction models, with a particular emphasis on interpretability and model transferability across different tasks and cities.
Before his PhD, Soban earned his master’s from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, where he explored Bayesian deep learning for uncertainty quantification in operator learning and soil constitutive modeling. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology Srinagar.
